For a while now, I've been hearing questions like: "Sure you want to jump into that cesspool?"
Meanwhile, the San Francisco Bay Guardian printed another piece I wrote on some of the key reasons I'm planning to run for Congress if Lynn Woolsey decides not to seek re-election. For that article, click here.
I appreciated news coverage from the Press Democrat ("Solomon Prepares to Seek Woolsey's Seat in Congress"), the Pacific Sun ("Inverness Activist Would Run for Congress"), the Point Reyes Light, the West Marin Citizen and other print outlets, along with live interviews on area radio stations.
On January 26, I spoke to about 120 people at an event sponsored by the Santa Rosa Democratic Club. Very high energy in the room! I'd say progressive momentum is on an upswing in the North Bay.
Since the launch a week ago, the response to the exploratory committee website has been very strong. Many are reading articles or watching the videos posted on the site. Some are clicking the Contribute button to make a donation. Others are volunteering to host house parties (by sending a note with "House Party" in the subject line to NormanSolomonNorthBay@gmail.com).
Please share the web address -- www.NormanSolomonExploratory.com -- on Facebook, via Twitter, on email and other ways to pass along to friends, neighbors and others who comes to mind.
P.S. -- I highly recommend listening to online audio of the wonderful recent interview on KQED Radio's "Forum" program with journalist Belva Davis, author of the new book "Never in My Wildest Dreams." Truly inspiring!
